Brainstorming.

I had an idea for our Media coursework film which will hopefully be gangster genre after watching snatch of basing it in Britain, I have already been making character profiles of the people involved in the project. Maybe even thinking of adding these into the film a small 10 second bio of the three main characters. I'm also thinking up ideas for the screen play. So far I'm thinking of filming it in a deep dark wood or instead in a large office with the big desk which would belong to a mobster of some sort. These are just ideas brewing at the minute. I will follow this up with a post soon to come..

Preliminary Task Feedback.

Our Prelim task has been shown to the rest of the class we got some good feedback
- We had good Match action, which meant that all our shots flowed well together and were all in sync with each other done by editing.
- Our camera was not shaking at all, The picture was very smooth - due to using our own camrea which has a steady function which reduces shake on the camera
- We stuck to the 180 degree rule. which made sure we kept within the 180 degree angle between Me and Chris while having our conversation.
- We were also told that we used a wide range of shots, from extreme close ups to low angle shots and over the shoulder shots.
- Our editing was really good overall.
- However we could of used more shot and reversed shots.

Research and planning

A good start Will. Make sure your analysis of the openings of films is more detailed - see below for what to include.

You should have at least 8-10 posts on here by next Tuesday, including:
- Analysis of at least 4 different genre openings (analyse how mise-en-scene, sound, plot convey genre to audience)
- Preliminary task evaluation
- own ideas mind map - what genre? plot? etc
- Analysis of at least 2 openings of films from your chosen genre

Preliminary Task going ons.

We have been making a prelimianry task, its gone quite well. Our task was to film somone opening a door, then walking through it into another room and then having a conversation with another person in the room. For our film damian was on camera, i was acting, being the person who walked through the door into the room and chris was the person already in the room who i had the conversation with and intterogated. Our first shot is a close-up following my feet walking along the corridor and then it links in to an overshoulder shot filming we walking until i stop at the door. There is then a close up of my hand knock knock knock knocking on chris' door. The next shot then shows the inised of the door where chris answers the door and lets me in. There is then a medium shot of me walking to the chair and then another one exactly the same as this of Chris. We then have an improvised conversation on a stolen fajhia, this consists of over the shoulder shots and a medium shot from the 180 rule. ths is then followed by chris running out the room and me chsing him, it then fades out, then back in with me with chris in a headlock!
